A jump into the past to discover the history of the ancient mining activity of Monte Calisio
The itinerary starts near Santa Colomba lake in Civezzano and develops in a ring route of about 3 km in the woods of Monte Calisio.
Here you can discover some small mining sites, the so-called “canopes”, and reach some interesting panoramic view points (for example Dos dei Brusadi).
The itinerary is accompanied by numerous illustrative panels with insights on the history, legends and geological characteristics of the sites and mining activity. Indeed, the area played a central role in medieval mining: it was one of the most important areas for the exploitation of mineral deposits of Galena Argentifera; at the time very rich in silver.
The path, well signposted, is a low-difficult 2 hours trekking, suitable for everyone, adults and children.
