Telvana Castle

Medieval castle building

The manor house, which has been recently restructured, dominates the countryside of Civezzano. Originally medieval, it has been restructured several times, and has been handed down through centuries of historic and architectonic events that have transformed the original structure, giving it its present appearance of a suburban villa. Today it houses the offices of the Town Council and can be visited during office hours. The building, already mentioned in documents of the XIII century as “domus murata” (walled dwelling) was restored in several stages and only a careful observer can recognise its medieval origin by small details such as the remains of the battlements. Several Roman and Barbarian remains have been found in the vicinity, including the famous Longobard tomb known as “the Prince’s Tomb”, with a rich funeral trousseau.

Open: all the year round during town council office hours.
