The smallest Cittaslow in the world

Grumes, a picturesque town on the right bank of the Upper Cembra Valley, is built partly on a terrace at the foot of Mount Lasta di Belvedere and partly on a rocky mountainpeak. It lies at an altitude of 852 meters, and, apart from the centre itself, also includes several “masi”: small settlements scattered over the mountainside. Further below, towards the River Avisio, the landscape features many terraced fields. To the north of the mountain, near the border with the Province of Bolzano, there is Védes Lake, a biotope of particular naturalistic interest.
